How the rod measures movement

This MIRAN LS2 rod transducer has a 100cm measuring stroke. The rod attaches to the machine's moving part and extends or retracts as it travels along the axis. The reading changes with rod position, allowing the measuring system to track the part. The body stays fixed where the rod can follow the required movement.

LS2-1000MM and its 15kΩ resistance

Code LS2-1000MM identifies a 1000mm stroke. The series uses a potentiometer principle, and this size has a 15kΩ resistance to check against the measuring input it will connect to. Its 0.05%FS linearity describes the consistency between rod movement and the reading across the stroke. The connection arrangement also matters when replacing an installed unit.

Stroke and installation space

The one-metre size is the measuring travel. Installation space includes the body, rod attachment and rod movement at both ends of the stroke. Measure the axis from the start to the end of its travel, then compare the attachment positions with the existing transducer. The image shows the LS2 series form; model LS2-1000MM identifies this 1000mm stroke.
